Sign

When I arrived back from camp, Graphics22 Signs had completed and hung our Hazelnut sign on the church building. Although we'd eventually like an off-site, 2nd Avenue location the church building will host The Hazelnut for now.

Jr. High Camp

One of our Board members, Ed Gratton, used Urban Fuel as the mission for his Jr. High Week of Camp at Camp Christian. I went as the missions speaker July 16 - 21. It was a terrific week. They were a great group of teens and staff. Although I wasn't high enough to tell, the photo above shows them forming a UF. For the talent show Thursday, the "Triple J's" (Jeff, Jonathan and Jordon) did a very intersting rap song they created called the Yolanda Song. They renewed me. I'll annouce the offering total when I get it. THANKS Ed and junior highers! Three teens were or will be baptized. The band Soulstice did a great job. http://www.myspace.com/soulsticeworship

WRCC Work Group

July 10-14 a work group from Winifred Road Church of Christ (my home church) in Cumberland, MD came to help us prepare for the fall. Justin, Katrina, Andy and Emerson spent the whole five days - Seth, Alyssa, Gary and Timothy came in shifts. They put someone where between 3 to 5 coats of red paint on our kitchen, 1 coat of harvest wheat on other walls and painted the stage. Justin rewired the stage, gave us four new grounded outlets, replaced three lights on the stage, and replaced four flourescent lights with track lighting. By the way they also helped with VBS in the evenings. By the time they were finished, it really began looking more like a coffee house. THANKS!!!! I'll show before and after pictures later.

New Hope Thanks

Thanks to New Hope Christian Community for the donation and for Dave Crafton for helping us set up a blog.

Neighborhood Presentation

The presentation to the neighborhood on June 13 went very well. I am so thankful for the 14 Hazelwood Christian Church people who came to help and support the presentation. I was very proud. Mayor O'Connor (left) came late and didn't hear the presentation, but I talked to him briefly afterwards. Thanks for your prayers.
