Online Donations!

One of our college students created a Facebook Cause for Urban Fuel on Facebook (see link to left if you're registered with Facebook). This in turn automatically registered Urban Fuel with Justgive.org which processes online donations to charities. This saves us hundreds if not thousands of dollars in software costs and monthly credit card processing fees otherwise associated with accepting online donations. THANKS CHELSEA!!!! Anyone can feel free to make a DONATION! In other news, we were also approved by the Tickets for Kids Foundation to acquire free tickets to Pittsburgh events.

Oct 28 Steeler Game

Twenty three people watched the Steelers beat the Bengals Sunday. Johnny and Desmond worked. Our new student worker Matt volunteered two hours of his time with no pay.

Soul Food Coffee House

On October 12th, Charlotta, Chardan'e and Peachey made mouth-watering southern barbecued chicken, green beans, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread. Lisa made her delicious pineapple upside down cake and a separate vanilla cake. Carol made brownies. Our workers worked both the coffeehouse counter and helped serve. Don and Regina Dykes and members of First Christian Church of Braddock brought a celebration of gospel music. After the formal program the audience informally continued to sing, and the kids did a dance routine. Forty-one people attended and sixty volunteer hours were donated toward the evening.
